Dota 2 Update - 1/30/2026

Fixed several issues: Clinkz’s Skeleton Archers no longer deal excess building damage; Slark’s Depth Shroud now properly buffs ally move speed and regen; Specter Shadow Step no longer lingers with range items; Muerta’s Gunslinger scales correctly on illusions; encoding and cosmetics spawning optimized to reduce hitch frames and traffic; cosmetics no longer spawn on every hero spawn; items in ability slots no longer show equipped in post-game/MVP.

7.40c Gameplay Patch

Patch 7.40c is live. Monster Hunter event ends Feb 6, 2026—finish crafting before then; new Universal Material packs let you buy mats. Fixes span Blood Grenade health, Lone Druid helm XP/bounty, Illusion Rune disjoint, lifesteal vs all-damage barrier, Quick Buy, Smoke from stash, and a bunch of hero/item quirks (Anti-Mage/Magebane vs Spectre, Arc Warden talents, Spirit Bear targeting, Brewmaster level 25, Clinkz armor, Doom/Petrify, Largo buff refresh, Morphling replication quirks, Medusa heart/Infest edge, Spectre Arcana animations).

7.40b Gameplay Patch

Patch 7.40b drops with a huge wave of bug fixes: Dota+ pick/win rate data fixed, Learn Ability auto-close after level 24, ward hitboxes corrected, Smoke from backpack bug fixed, plus numerous fixes across heroes, items, and shards (Kez, Largo, Juggernaut, Lina, Ursa, Rubick, Oracle, Tiny, Troll, Visage, Phantom Lancer, etc.).
