QoL/balance: shield hitbox update, watchtowers no-spam, overfishing, 24h ripe stage. Easter items: Bunny costume and Salvaged Axe/Syringe remakes. F1 UI revamp, terrain renderer and mesh stripping, RustRelay, and demo shot editing.
Daytime up ~20m; nights the same. Boat: edit-mode blocks rotate/demolish anytime; dive buoys fixed; sails no longer destroyed from edge; deploy/edit wheel always visible with clear error if unusable. Deep Sea: loot respawns slower (initial ~70%), random spawn side, no RHIB entry, range 620m. Cannons slow ships on hits; IO on boats (some blocked); wallpaper; wrecks destructible; decay delay 24h, duration 12h. TPM/Secure Boot opt-in.
Naval Update adds player-made boats: build with a Boat Building Station and gear like sails, helm, engines, anchor, cannons, ramps, and planks, with a lock on the wheel. Deep Sea brings ghost ships, floating cities, tropical islands and scientist boats; PT Boat joins RHIB, plus compass/map on RHIB and new AI. Five naval missions, Artist DLC with paint tools/frames, SKS skins, and big server perf gains across AI, physics and spawning.
Rust turns 12 and wipes the servers for 2026; Santa’s packing up. 2025 was huge: peak 259k, 450M+ sessions, 5.8M players, 700M hours. Updates ranged from Primitive and Crafting to Jungle, Friends with Benefits, Meta Shift, QoL and menu revamps. 2026 brings monthly updates, Rust Mobile, Naval update on Feb 5, new monuments and animal breeding, plus DLC/skinnables (maybe a battlepass). Cheating crackdown and perf work continue; Staging for early naval content.
